My name is Lori, and I have a ribbon addiction.

But really, can a girl ever have enough ribbon?  I mean you never know what shade of red or green you might need, so to be on the safe side, it best to have quite a selection.  I have been wanting to organize my ribbon for quite a while.  More that once I have found a beautiful spool of ribbon, and come home to find I already have 2 of the same shade.  I am hoping that this dandy little ribbon organizer bag, will help solve that problem, by having MOST of my ribbon all in the same place.  I say most, because it all wouldn't fit, even though there are nearly 200 holes for ribbon, (all full I might add).  I bought this cute clear make-up bag at Walmart, then used the crop-a-dile big bite to punch the holes in it.  From there is was simply a few hours (5 or 6) to roll and put all my beautiful ribbon in one place, waaaaa laaaaa.   Even though I have it all color coordinated, beautiful and full, I will still keep  my eyes out for a new beautiful spool of ribbon, in just the right shade.  And as I always say, a girl can never have enough ribbon.

Best weekend ever March 20-21,2009

I look forward to this weekend all year long.  Not only the swarm and expo, but also to the time I get to spend with my sister, my best friend.  We laugh, and laugh, and have a great time.  Being with her is always nice, I can just be myself and she still like me.  Wouldn't you know that even though we spent so much time together, we did not get one picture of us all weekend.  I guess it is good that I hold my dearest memories if her in my heart.  Thanks Lani, for a great weekend.  It wouldn't be the same without you there.

Of course I love the swarm too.  It has been a long time since I have taken the time to sit and work on my own stuff, uninterupted.  I even got a few things accomplished.  I have always said that I am no good at challenges, but I am good at thinking of them.  The challenge this time was to use "rummage" items, (older things that have been lost in outer darkness of your scrap space).  I enjoyed the challenge and was able to use several of my rummage stuff.  In the picture of my project you can see the "thanks" stamp was from a set I got 2 years ago and never put together, the pocket was taken from the rummage box at the swarm.  The "u" was from some chipboard letters I got 2 years ago.  Paper was from my scraps, and the flocked paper was also from my stash.  I used the paper sack that I got my goodies from the swarm in, so I reused that, (how very green of me).  I borrowed the ribbon, and eyelets.  Anyway, this is the project that I came up with, a silly little gift bag, and ............................ it won the challenge.  I was shocked, because as I said, I am not good at the challenges.  (A special thanks to all the creative people that did not do this challenge, that really helped me win too.)  ;)  

I have included a picture of my closest old and new scrap friends.  It seems that even though I do not see some of these people for close to a year, it is like time has stood still, and we were never apart.  It is such an honor to have such good scrap friends that we can just pick up where we were a year ago.  And might I say, what an amazing group of talented ladies (and gentleman).  I feel so lucky to have found each and everyone of them.

I have also included a picture of the amazing, and talented Tomi and Myself at the swarm.  To be counted as one of her friends is such an honor.

Snazzy jazzy hanger

I haven't been missing in action, I have just been busy.  As spring approaches, I have been trying to purge my home of some unwanted stuff and be a little bit organized.  I needed a better way to keep that of my kids coats and backpacks.  Of course I could not have a simple hanger, I had to jazz it up a bit and this is what I came up with.  (FYI, my home decor is americana, red white and blue, and a whole lot of stars.)  I used the the home accents cart to cut the flourishes, and george to cut the stars.  The white dots, were to cover up an accident, but I like what it adds.  I love the way it turned out.  I still need to add a vinyl saying to go above the hanger, but give me a day or two and I will post a new picture.  So what do you think?
