Here's a little sign I made to hang in my little slice of heaven (aka the demo booth at Costco). We had so many people ask how long are you going to be here so this was my solution to the necer ending question. The tulip and branch boarder were cut from Give a Hoot. The tree was just a scrap I cut to fit up the side of the page and crinkled it to give it some texture. I cut the purple tag from gypsy wanderings and welded the words "Days Left" (gypsy font) as well. The scalloped numbers and shadows are from Tie the Knot. We changed the numbers out each day as a little reminder that time was running out to make the cricut a part of their lives.

Challenge.......Yellow tin

Here is another challenge I participated in since I had a new partner for a couple of days at the West Valley store. I was lucky enough to work with the lovely and talented Lisa Sims, famous for her role in the cricut infomercial. She had brought these simple yellow tins in, and they made a perfect starting point for our little challenge. So the rules we came up with were that we had to use the tin, black vinyl and just the cartridges we were demoing. As we have done for other challenges we invited the public to vote for their favorite.Mine....Yellow tin, words (Smile, inspire, and wish)from Gypsy wanderings. The small whiteish flowers were welded together and cut from thin magnet material then I inked and added a paper layer on top of the magnet. I used the crop-a-dile to punch holes in the center of the flower so the tin could be used as a ribbon holder/dispencer. (Thank you, I thought it was a brilliant idea too...) I used accent essentials for the white layered flower on the top, and also added the words "Be creative"......one of my favorite mantras, to the top of the tin. One more thing... I made the brad using the Itop tool, and a yellow cut from the accent essentials cart. It has the perfect shape for doing the Itop, try it out. It is fast becoming one of my favorite tools.
Lisa's version......... Now when I saw this finished, I conceded the challenge. I thought it was beautiful. The beautiful black vinyl design on the bottom was a cut from Storybook she welded together several times. I LOVE the way that looks, so elegant. She added the words "Be Happy" to the top of the tin, and of course also made a beautiful layered flower in Pink. The bee is from Sentimentals, ( I may buy that cartridge just for the bee cut, it is beautiful). She popped the bee up with a couple of foam pop dots. Of course she added the cute black ribbon with the yellow brads to finish it off. BEE-U-TI-FUL........

So we started the voting, and no surprise...... LISA'S WAS THE FAVORITE. If I were voting, I would have picked hers too, so no surprise to me. There is always next week, and I have a great idea....... See you then.

Oh baby.......Heritage style

This baby buggy is one of my favorite cuts on the Heritage cartridge. It was begging me to transform it into a custom one-of-a-kind card. Thanks to the gypsy it was so easy. So I started by adding a 5 inch charm shadow to the virtual mat. Next I added the buggy, and sized it to look right, then welded it to the charm. I added 2 additional buggy cuts sized the same size to the mat. I love that with the gypsy I know right where to place my different colors of paper, so I only have to cut once.
Inside view. The sentiment "Oh Baby" is from the font on Heritage. I welded it and add it to the side of the card. It is beautiful, and soooooo easy with the gypsy.

If the crown fits, and other cricut fun......

Is it just me, or is this toooo blasted cute? I love, love, love this project idea... (I know I say that often). Now I can not take credit for this idea, I believe I saw it on the cricut messageboard, but dang, I am enjoying my take on it. So since we are demoing the sweet treats cartridge, I wanted to show it off. I took a pair of fuzzy socks and rolled them up to look like a swirly cupcake. Next I made this cute cupcake box, cherry and tag from the Sweet treats cartridge. I used my gypsy (love that little booger) to weld the sentiment "Mom, you are sweet" from the gypsy font. Of course a little ribbon, and Waaaalaaaaa...............A-MAZING!!! All it needs is a little celophane and you have yourself an adorable way to pass off a cheap pair of socks as an AMAZING gift. I hope you likey.............
That's right, it says "DRAMA QUEEN"!! So what...............if the crown fits....wear it, and I did. This super cute crown was cut from the Once Upon a princess cartridge using the fit to page feature. And because I have a huge head, had to cut out two of the bands to get it to fit. ;) The adorable phrase is also from the Princess cart. Since I am representing my favorite critter (the cricut) I figured I should add him on too. I simply cut shapes from the Plantin' Schoolbook cart to make my buggy. So doable. Now if I could just keep the little girls from trying to walk off with my tiara, there would cease to be drama, until then..........................
This is a simple, yet effective demo piece. These keys are from the Sentimentals cartridge. It has a very victorian feel to it, and I loved the way these keys looked in groups. Since the expression bundle comes with a marker, I wanted to show the amazing effect using the marker can give to your piece. I traced the keys then cut them out. So simple, yet so beautiful.

Another slow Sunday demoing in the West Valley, Utah Costco has lead to another Sunday cricut-off challenge. This week I am lucky to be working with Sarah, a brand new and excited member of the Utah demo team. She is new to both the expression and gypsy, but is mastering both very well. Since Mothers Day is only a week away, our simple challenge today was to make a Mothers Day card. What do you think. Both are unique and show the challengers original style. The rules were we had to use only the cartridges we have at the demo table and we had to use the Gypsy. I think both are amazing. What do you think?
