40 sucks, new

I feel fortunate to have an old friend see some of my work and ask me to make a 40 sucks basket for his wife's birthday.  I wanted to do something that was a bit more feminine, so this time I made the suckers into individual roses using the popular rolling paper method.  I cut 40 circles (20 red and 20 yellow), cut them into spirals and rolled them up.  I punched a hole in the bottom for the sucker stick to go through.  To help keep the paper in place, I tied each one with a green ribbon.

After I had my 40 suckers made, I added them to the basket that had 2 foam blocks inside.   I prepped the basket by adding the blocks of foam and some lime green paper shreds on top.  I stuck my flowers in and there you have it.  I made the words 40 sucks on my gypsy using the gypsy font, glued them to stick and stuck them in.  Hope you like it.  I think it is my best so far.
