Each DT Member will have the next link on their blog that you need to move onto.   You need to leave a comment on each blog so that we know you where there.  The LAST step is to go to our FB page and leave a comment about the blog hop.

On Sunday, July 7th, we will pick one random person who visited all the blogs and they will be our winner.

What do you win you ask!!!

A bag full of goodies from Tim Holtz , Dyan Reaveley and Claudine Hellmuth
Distress Ink, Distress Stain, Dylusions Ink, Distress Paint, Studio Acrylic paint and a hand full of tags to play with.

So without further ado......I am excited to show you my project.
I started out with a plain, wooden crate.  I've seen them around and since I have a love for containers, I picked this up a while ago.  I wasn't really sure what I wanted to use if for or where I wanted it to go, but as soon as I got my supplies for the blog hop, it became pretty clear.  You see, my house is decorated in an Americana theme, and I have Red, White and Blue accents everywhere.

I first decided that I wanted to make a flag with on the slatted side.  I cut my strips and tore them to get the distressed antique look I was going for.
Then used modge podge to glue them on to the side.  I could have painted the wooden crate, but I liked the light color of the wood.

I know that tearing has been around as a technique forever, but it is a quick way to add some texture and interest to a project.  Tearing is one of my favorite go-tos and never goes out of style.  DON'T be scared to tear your paper.  If you haven't done it, try it.  If it's been a while, give it a shot again.

The flag turned out, okish.....I didn't "love" it when I was done.  That is OK, because every project is a chance to learn.  The next time you try it will be even better.  Have you ever had a great idea, tried it and it was just a huge disaster?  It happens.......

At this point I decided I wanted to do make a collage of all the gorgeous papers on the end.  I was like "just go for it, it can't be any worse than the flag..."  So I seriously slapped down some modge podge and cut, tore and glued random papers.

I moved quick, without over thinking where to put it.  I was a very fast paced and exciting creative process, and I really love the finished look.

So the sad thing is, is this is how the crate was being used while I was figuring out what to do with it, and this is possible how it is going to be used for a while longer.

Why not have a more decorative "table" until a more permanent home is found, then again, maybe it is already home.

Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to be entered into the drawing.  Your next stop is
