Eclipse t-shirt

I just got home from seeing Eclipse, The Twilight saga, it was so good.  My love, Jacob, was amazing.  It is 3:50 in the morning.  I am too excited to go to sleep so I thought I would share with you my one-of-a-kind t-shirt I made for the movie premiere tonight.

My talented Shane drew the design.  It's the wolf tattoo with claw marks through it.  At the top it says "Young wolves make this cougar prrrrrrr!"

Shane came up with that saying and it fit me perfectly.  I made a screen on the yudu and pulled myself a t-shirt with about 10 minutes to spare, before walking out the door tonight.

Here we are together.  I recently learned that I am old enough to be that boys mother.  I really enjoy that boy!!

Bookmarks

I'm back from camp, and I survived the snakes, bugs, and the freezing cold.  The girls LOVED the washer bracelets, and several of the other wards wanted instructions so they could make them next year.  :) 

So the camp project I want to show you are the bookmarks I made for the girls with the value we were assigned, Choice and Accountability.  The letters on the CTR shield are from the Wall decor and more cart.  The C and A on the bookmark are also from the Wall decor and more cart.  The rest of the letters are from Song bird, one of my absolute favorite fonts.

The quote on the back says "Freedom of choice cannot be exercised without accountability for choices made.  Elder Russel M Neilson".   

I made cut file on my gypsy for the words, then made a custom shaped tag for the bookmark that would fit the word cut nicely.  I cut all the words and letters out of black vinyl.  I used a signo white um-153 pen to add accent dots to the cuts.  I laminated the pieces with my Your Story machine, and added the ribbon to finish them off.  They are a nice sturdy bookmark and I think the girls liked them.

I have one more camp project to show you, but first I need a nap and a shower.  :)

Camp folder-upers candy holders.

Another camp project.... the folder-uper.  I created the cut file on my gypsy using basic shapes from George and added the sillouette of the girl reading a book.  It was a perfect cut for what I was using these for, the scripture reading list for the 3 days we are at camp, I added that to the back of the folder-uper.

To finish up I scored and folded the folder-upers, put a few candies in a small zippy bag, punched a few holes in the top and tied the folder-upper and the baggie together with ribbon.  And there you have it, a super cute way to have you reading list and a treat to go with it.  I have one more camp project to share, but I am on my way out the door to spend that last 2 days with the girls.  I will post after I get back.  Happy Crafting!!

Camp 2010, Washer Bracelet

It's that time again for girl's camp, and I was lucky enough to be working with the girls and get to do some of the fun stuff for camp.  This year as leaders we decided that we wanted to focus on women of strength from the scriptures.  Each of the leaders selected one woman and one of her stand out strengths.  Each night we will highlight 2 of the women/strengths.  After each presentation the girls will be given a washer, that has been covered with paper and had holes drilled in the sides, that also has the strength on the washer.  At the end of camp we will have an activity to put them all together to make a bracelet with all of the strengths on there.  I also make bigger washers that have one strength that the parents have identified their daughter as having.  They will get these  with letters from home.  I cut the circles with the circle in the center on my cricut, and put several coats of glossy accents on them to make them look better than just a washer.  Hope this made sense.

 

I yudu, do you?

Here are a few projects I put together for a yudu training class I was instructing.  It has been so fun getting more acquainted with my yudu machine over the last few days.  Now along with paper and scrap supplies, I am starting to horde ink and t-shirts.  This is an amazing machine, especially since Shane is a graphic designer.  He has made some amazing designs for me to screen.  I'll post pics of those creations once I have them perfected.

The cut is from Wall decor and more.  I screened on a onsie and added some bling and waa laa.........  Adorable!

 America.... just in time for the 4th......  This word art was drawn by Shane, then I cut the swirly stars from the home decor cartridge in black paper.  Before I burned the image on to the screen I put the stars on the word art.  When I pulled the image on the yudu, I just used 2 colors.   I love it and now we can all have matching shirts for the 4th.

I have to say I love this one.  Of course I have a woopsie on the side, but wanted to share anyway.  I am going to redo this bag and make sure that the side is taped better next time.  So the word Dance and the ballet dancers are from Wall decor and more.  The corner swoopty-doo is from home decor.  I used my gypsy to weld the word dance and the swoopty-doo.  For the skirts on the ballerinas, I sewed tule together, then hand sewed it to the bag.  It is cute, I love the concept, but the next one I make will be even better.

I am a dork but then most of you knew that already.  So I was given a great opportunity to lead a conference call with some newer girls that also demo.  I was so excited about the call that my first thought was that I needed to make some sort of cute notebook so I could make my notes.  That's seriously the way my scrap obsessed brain works.  So I put together a cute new notebook to write my to-do lists, shopping lists, or notes from meetings.  I found this cute paper and it "spoke"to me, (that happens a lot and explains why I have so much paper).   It had some cute flowers on it, but I wanted the flowers to POP!!  So I cut and layered several flowers in coordinating colors, then used my new ITop tool to make my own brads.  Note:  Did you know that there is a cut on Accent Essentials that is perfect for the ITop.  On the inside I tried sewing for the first time.  I made a coordinating pocket that turned out really nice.  It was a fun project and I am so proud when I pull it out.

I used coasters for the pages, the gypsy to layout and cut all the words from vinyl. Gypsy to do the the layout for the side smile.
